Be part of the proactive movement for Change!

Our Members are:

• Standing up for immigrant rights and making their voices heard across Washington State. Members are sharing their testimonies, joining rallies  and actions, and educating their communities about the need to change our immigration system and pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform in 2010.
• Starting and leading active community groups across Washington State including  Vancouver, Tacoma, Mt. Vernon, Lynnwood, and South Seattle.
• Visiting their elected officials and highlighting issues that are important to their community. Members visit representatives during Lobby Day in January and make key visits during the year. In October a committee of four OneAmerica members joined activists from all over the nation in Washington DC for a Family Unity Rally and spoke to their district representatives.
• Rallying for change! In October 2009, three buses of OneAmerica members joined our west coast allies in San Jose to march for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and send Janet Naplitano a strong message for family unity.
• Writing letters to their congressman, phone banking, participating in local activism and creating their own actions, and reaching out in different languages to build momentum for the movement.
• Working with OneAmerica to develop new leaders in diverse communities. OneAmerica members and leaders are educating themselves by attending trainings and sharing their new learned skills with their community. They are sharing knowledge they learn and educating others for consciousness and social change.

STAY INFORMED: Receive the OneAmerica Newsletter and updates on immigration and policy issues.

RECEIVE ACTION ALERTS AND SPECIAL INVITATIONS: Participate in action events and advocacy opportunities. Educate yourself and your neighbors about what is happening with Immigration Reform and what we can do to make 2010 a year for Immigrant Rights!

DEVELOP YOUR OWN LEADERSHIP SKILLS: Attend special trainings, issue discussions, and forums. Become involved in our Volunteer Action Group every Tuesday night from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and meet other members in Seattle while learning new skills to practice and put to use.
