Stand up for equality and justice.
Day 1 in 76 Miles for Justice Trek!
Day 1
May 15th, 2010
To the chants of “No Nos Moveran” (No We won’t be Moved!) and cars honking from the side of the road, OneAmerica Leader Juan Jose Maldonado and OneAmerica Skagit embarked on their 76 miles trek for Justice!
The group is following in the steps of Jesus and recreating the Stations of the Cross, along the way as they carry with them the Virgin of Guadalupe, American Flags, and white crosses.
Their call is for ending family separation. Their walk is representing the lives lost in the desert. The group of 12 started walking at 9am in the morning from St. Charles Church in Burlington and spent the night with a community member in Stanwood. Stay tuned!
