SFYC was founded in June 1996 as a City of Seattle Human Services Department-operated program targeting at-risk Southeast Asian youth and families. The Center became a non-profit organization in January 2000, and expanded its services to better serve the community, including High Point's East African, African-American, Latino, Pacific Islander, and other populations. SFYC is the second-largest youth agency located in Southwest Seattle, Washington.
